The Texas Tech University J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, in collaboration with the School of Music is accepting applications for full-time, single academic year nine-month, visiting faculty position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice. The successful candidate will begin service in this full-time position at the beginning of the 2024 fall semester.

Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTUs strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.

Required Qualifications
  1. Terminal degree in voice or closely related discipline.
  2. A record of professional activity and or research that demonstrates emerging recognition in the field of vocal music.
  3. Working knowledge of current practice/pedagogy/theory in vocal technique, vocal pedagogy, singers diction, song literature, opera, and musical theatre.
  4. A commitment to quality, student-centered education
  5. Strong evidence of the ability and desire to perform service: duties include, but are not limited to, recruiting, program-building, and commitment to extra-curricular activities of the department, college, and university.


Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience as operatic/concert singer/recitalist soprano.
  2. Teaching experience at the university level.
